CM Hybrid Setting (Experiment)
When looking on games from CM11 against stronger opponents you
can often see that CM plays strong in opening and middle game but
then he get lost, often relative quick. Maybe the fact that he
didn't include TB's in his search plays a role.
I asked myself, how stronger would CM be with a Top endgame? The
Banksia-GUI has a nice feature to create new engines and you can
select how they are combined. I decided to use the piece count for
my experiment. I think the only way to keep CM's play. After
analysing a lot of games I used 10 pieces/opponent as the point to
switch from CM/T8 to Swordfish/T1. "CM Swordfish" reaches 2980 Elo,
150 more then the best T8 (8 threads) setting. Take a look at the rating list.
